Wahoo Fishing 🎣🐟 Wahoo are one of the fastest fish in the ocean, reaching speeds of up to 60 mph and growing to 125+ pounds. They’re only around for about three months a year, so every trip counts. To catch them, we troll at 16–17 mph with three braided lines out — one at 150 ft, one at 250 ft, and one at 350 ft. Each line has a 30 ft shock cord, a heavy weight, and a 14-inch lure rigged with a #10 hook. When a wahoo strikes, it can strip the line out to 800–900 ft in seconds. At that point, we slow the boat to about 8 mph, and the real battle begins. You’ve got to fight hard and bring it in fast — before a shark takes it, or the fish throws the hook. It’s fast, intense, and one of the most exciting kinds of fishing there is. ⚡🐋
